  • Leipzig DJ and producer Stefanie Merten, AKA Alma Marter, has died aged 32. Merten's family broke the news on Instagram yesterday, Wednesday 13th. "You were, are and will [always] be such a wonderful daughter, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, friend and musician," the post read. "You have taken so many people on musical journeys with your sense of ingenuity and talent. There was so much love and lightness everywhere you were. No words can describe how much we love, appreciate and miss you." Merten had spoken openly about her illness in previous posts, revealing that she was receiving treatment for glioblastoma, a fast-growing and aggressive brain tumour. Known for her melodic brand of techno, Merten released music on Sonderling Records sub-label Rohling. She also performed at clubs such as Berlin's Mensch Meier and Club OST, and Distillery in her native Leipzig. Read the Instagram post in full, and revisit Alma Marter's HÖR set from September 2021.
