A documentary about the life of French DJ Laurent Garnier is now available to stream on ARTE, the European public-service broadcaster.
Titled Off the Record, it features extensive interviews with Garnier about his early life and experiences, plus testimonials from various techno luminaries including DJ Pierre, Carl Cox, Richie Hawtin, Miss Kittin and The Blessed Madonna.
Directed by Gabin Rivoire, the documentary was shot between 2017 and 2019 and first released in France in 2021 after a Kickstarter campaign.
It will be available to stream for free on ARTE until January 2024. Some narration is in French but most of the interviews are in English, including those with Garnier. Spanish, Italian and German subtitles are also available.
