  • A new music industry conference is coming to East London next month. Taking place at The Halley Space on September 22nd, Orbit Live will focus on audience-led forums, workshops and discussions, tackling topics such as sustainability, diversity and inclusivity. The one-day event is the brainchild of music platform Orbit. Among those contributing are PXSSY PALACE's Nadine Noor, Corsica Studios and Carpet Shop's Matt Wickings, Unbound Events' Charles Olisanekwu (AKA DJ Winggold), Eastern Margins founder David Zhou and Ade of Black Obsidian Soundsystem. "Orbit Live is about building a forum that's flat, equalised and breaks away from the old barriers of panel versus audience that we see within traditional conference formats" said project and partnership manager Callum Wright. "The Orbit Live forum will offer a real opportunity for grassroots collectives, aspiring industry experts and beyond to explore how they can move forward. We've built this space inspired by and for the people on the ground actually shaping today's culture." September's conference will also see the launch of the platform's new grants and mentorship scheme, The Orbit Fund, which is aimed at amplifying and supporting ten emerging communities in 2024. Successful applicants will secure condition-free, non-repayable grants and will be supported by The Halley Space's community team. Find out more about Orbit Live in the event listing below.
