  • Frankfurt electronic producer Steffen Britzke, AKA Stevie B-Zet, has died aged 62. Britzke's former collaborator, Ralf Hildenbeutel, broke the news on Facebook last Wednesday, August 2nd. "I have no real words and it's still a shock that Steffen, our Stevie B-Zet, has passed away last Thursday," the post read. "When we met I was 17. We've done and experienced so much together. We played in the same band when I was still in school, then the incredible Eye Q years, the Schallbau era and lots of film scores together. My thoughts to his beloved ones." One of the pioneers of the early trance sound, Britzke released much of his music on Eye Q Records, the label run by Sven Väth, Matthias Hoffmann and Heinz Roth. He also collaborated regularly with Väth, the pair releasing music together as Astral Pilot. Other projects Britzke was involved in include The Volunteers, Odyssee Of Noises and Zyon. Adam Beyer released a remix of the Zyon track "No Fate" as recently as June. Outside of dance music production, Britzke was a keyboard player for international artists such as Quincy Jones and Sheila E. He also scored a handful of German films and TV shows, including The Cold Finger, Around 50 and Death Of A Cadet Listen to "No Fate," and read some tributes.
