  • Dublin Digital Radio has announced this year's edition of Alternating Current festival. Taking place at multi-disciplinary arts centre The Complex from October 27th through 29th, the event will host a huge lineup of Irish experimental and electronic musicians and artists. This year's theme revolves around the Irish language word "meitheal", referring to a "historical practice of community labour in the production of the common goods." A selection of artists have been commissioned to create bespoke work around this theme for their performances, including Áine O’Dwyer, ALYXIS, BB84, Caskré, Lakker, Linda O'Keefe, Muireann Levis, Nigel Rolfe, Soria and experimental noise techno duo Whirling Hall of Knives. Alternating Current 2023 will also host a series of workshops and screenings in collaboration with Dublin Art and Technology Association, including an all-ages music-making workshop from Dabbled Music, an electronic music workshop for girls from Synthesize Her and a work in progress event hosted by Roo Honeychild.
