  • French electronic music and youth culture magazine Trax is shutting down. The news was confirmed on Twitter today, June 14th by Simon Clair, the publication's editor-in-chief. Clair explained that the magazine's owner, creative agency Bon Esprit, has gone out of business, triggering Trax's closure. It's "the end of a beautiful story," he wrote. In another post on the same thread, he announced that there will be a farewell party at Point Ephémère in Paris on June 23rd. Launched in Paris in 1997, Trax quickly became a staple of French music journalism. The first issue had The Chemical Brothers on the front cover, and the magazine has since spotlighted everyone from Jeff Mills, Dave Clarke and Richie Hawtin to Bambounou, Yaeji and Isabella Lovestory.
