  • Radio station dublab is officially broadcasting out of its new home. Located in a historic building in Los Angeles' University Park neighborhood, the space consists of two studios and a larger adjoining area. In addition to live broadcasts, dublab's new headquarters will also host roundtable discussions, public workshops, classes and other educational programs. This is the first time dublab is broadcasting in-person seven days a week since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic in March 2020. "These facilities will also serve as the hub for students and young people to learn to connect and hopefully, dublab can bring vibrancy to the Los Angeles community," Alejandro Cohen, dublab's executive director, told Resident Advisor. The launch comes as the station holds its annual membership fundraiser. It aims to raise $24,000 to pay for rent, salaries, studio maintenance and upgrades, among other operating costs. dublab has been broadcasting out of California since 1999 and will celebrate its 24th anniversary next year. Last February, it detailed its history in a book called Dublab: From the Archives of Future Roots Radio. For information on how to donate, visit the official website.
