  • Kasra V and Sepehr are launching a new project based around their Iranian heritage. Called Flower Storm after a 1972 animation by surrealist painter Ali Akbar Sadeghi, the project spans a new label, audiovisual live show and EP series. The aim is to honour and celebrate Iranian culture by sampling films and traditional instruments such as the daf, the tonbak and the santoor. "This project has been in the works for three years now, and we've been working hard behind the scenes for it to come to fruition," Sepehr wrote via Instagram. "Techno, experimental, electro, drum & bass and more mixed with rare traditional sounds from our homeland—we want to create new musical territories/genres." The first EP, Yek, spans four tracks. The title translates to the number "one" in Farsi. Listen to the lead single, "Sage's prophecy." Read Flower Storm's announcement in full.
