  • Sydney's Pleasures Playhouse is closing down, but hopes to reopen on a more permanent basis if it receives additional funding. Announcing the news on Instagram earlier this week, the Chinatown venue said its final party will take place on March 26th. "Pleasures Playhouse started out as a pop-up event series back in September thanks to New South Wales government funding," the post read. "We never expected how much love it would get from Eora Sydney folk and our arts scene. Our hearts are full." It continued: "We have managed to keep Pleasures Playhouse open a little longer than anticipated, but sadly its doors will close as we work with the venue owners and other stakeholders in hopes of reopening for good. The dusty old cinema needs some TLC, new funding and more approvals from the city and New South Wales licensing to stay open for the long term." Located in an abandoned cinema, Pleasures Playhouse will host parties with local promoters RENEGADE, Control and SWITCH across the next two weekends. Check out the full post.
