Spotify has unveiled a new AI-powered DJ feature.
The feature, which is called DJ, will provide a curated lineup of music with accompanying commentary delivered by a "stunningly realistic voice," according to an announcement made by the tech giant yesterday, Wednesday 22nd February.
Currently in its beta phase, DJ is being rolled out for Spotify Premium users in the US and Canada. It combines Spotify's personalisation technology with generative AI and AI voice platform Sonantic, which was acquired by Spotify last year. Spotify's head of cultural partnerships Xavier Jernigan–who already served as one of the hosts of the streaming service's morning shows The Get Up–is the voice model for DJ.
