Manchester MC, rapper and producer Chunky is releasing his debut album.
Out on March 3rd via Eglo Records, Somebody's Child explores deconstructed grime, rap and various Afro-diasporic sounds. Chunky wrote and produced all 11 tracks, with additional production from Metrodome and vocals from Meme Gold, Bradley Tompson and Jermaine Peterson.
A permanent fixture in Manchester's music scene, Chunky is a member of DIY collective LEVELZ, which includes Chimpo, MC Fox and Dub Phizix. He also regularly MCs at Swamp 81 parties, and has released a steady stream of music on the Swamp 81 label over the years.
A launch party for Somebody's Child will take place at London institution fabric on Thursday, March 2nd. Joining Chunky will be Zed Bias, Metrodome, Strategy, Alexander Nut and more.
