  • UK DJ, producer and label boss Jerome Hill is releasing his first album, Flow Mechanics, next month. Ranging from wonky acid bangers to pounding Chicago-tinged rave, the eight-track release is out on March 3rd through Hypercolour. "I wanted to present a collection of tracks that represent my DJing style and that I'd play in various types of set at various times of the night," Hill told Resident Advisor. "Plus, it was important for me to include some weird vocal skits, which I often use as bridges to distract from severe tempo or mood changes during sets. Ultimately I just wanted to do an album where each track is playable out on the dance floor." Hill has been a champion of underground sounds since the early '90s. He runs five labels—Don't, Super Rhythm Trax, Bleeper, Hornsey Hardcore and Fat Hop—and hosts the long-running London club night Don't, which returns to London's Peckham Audio in March. He also presented the weekly Roots Of Rave show on London's Kool FM for many years. Listen to a sampler of Flow Mechanics.
