  • Thomas Bangalter, one half of legendary duo Daft Punk, is releasing a new solo album. Out on April 7th via Erato/Warner Classics, Mythologies was commissioned by choreographer Angelin Preljocaj for the ballet of the same name, which was premiered last year by the Orchestre National Bordeaux Aquitaine. Featuring 23 tracks across 90 minutes, the piece was intended for ten dancers from the Opéra National de Bordeaux's ballet company, ten others from Preljocaj's own company and the house's resident orchestra. Disregarding stylistic conventions, it touches on everything from baroque music to American minimalism. Mythologies was Bangalter's first solo project after Daft Punk split up in 2021. He has since contributed music to the film En Corps, released last March. Watch a teaser for Mythologies.
