  • Grammy Award-winning audio engineer Kevin Marques Moo, AKA Daddy Kev, has written his first book. The independently published Audio Dynamics: Compression Techniques for Modern Mixing and Mastering explores the history, art and science behind dynamic range compression (AKA compression). Aimed at experienced engineers as well as beginners, the book unpacks Moo's approach to mixing drums, vocals, instruments, stereo groups and mastering. It's available now via Amazon. Born in Los Angeles, Moo is the founder of Alpha Pup Records and legendary experimental hip-hop and electronic party Low End Theory, which ran weekly between 2006 and 2018. He's engineered records for Flying Lotus, Thundercat, Kamasi Washington and more. Check out Daddy Kev's Twitter thread on compression from 2021.
