  • Bandcloud, a weekly newsletter of new releases on Bandcamp and SoundCloud, is ceasing operations. Founder Aidan Hanratty, a Dublin-based writer, DJ and producer, announced the news today, August 19th, explaining that he no longer has the capacity to continue the service. The newsletter's August 12th edition is now its last. "Next month I'm going back to college to embark upon a new career, and this is a point at which I can no longer dedicate the time and energy to keeping up with and writing about music," Hanratty wrote on the Bandcloud site. Established in 2014, the platform developed a cult following for its thoughtful curation of new dance music and experimental releases, spanning house, techno, ambient and drone, among other styles. Bandcloud also regularly featured mixes from emerging DJs, as well as contributions from guest writers. Browse the website.
