  • Eliza Rose and Interplanetary Criminal have peaked at #2 in this week's UK Singles Chart with viral summer smash "B.O.T.A. (Baddest Of Them All)." After entering the top ten last week, the house track is now up to #2, leapfrogging Beyoncé, Central Cee and David Guetta, among others. LF System's disco-house banger "Afraid To Feel" remains in the top spot for the seventh week running. Released in June via Rosebud Recordings, "B.O.T.A. (Baddest Of Them All)" has been lighting up clubs and festivals thanks to DJs like Job Jobse, Shanti Celeste and Call Super. It contains a sample of Lisa Lisa & Cult Jam's 1991 anthem "Let The Beat Hit 'Em (LL W:Love RC Mix)." "I always use my surroundings to inspire me," Rose, who sings on the track, told NME. "I was in my boyfriend's bedroom and he had a Coffy poster, and the words were, 'She's the baddest, wickedest in town.' It was a Blaxploitation poster, so that's something I'm proud of and want to represent. I used that to inspire my lyrics and knew what it needed to be—it was strange, like a gift from a higher power." Watch the video for "B.O.T.A. (Baddest Of Them All)," and listen to this month's Critics Roundtable podcast, which mentions the track.
