  • New York label Razor-N-Tape is celebrating its tenth anniversary by launching a brick-and-mortar record store in Brooklyn. Located in Greenpoint, the shop opens to the public on October 21st and will operate every Friday through Sunday, offering the complete Razor-N-Tape vinyl catalogue, a curated selection of new and used records from international and local labels, and label apparel and DJ accessories. "We see this storefront as the logical next step in our evolution; a place that will highlight our full catalog and apparel, showcase other new music we support, and be a place of convergence for local and visiting artists," the label said in a statement. Designed by Elsa Arsenault, the space includes a custom-built DJ booth and hi-fi sound system. To mark the opening, the shop is hosting a weekend of DJ sets from friends of the label including Jacques Renault, 4AM NYC, Bruce Tantum and more. It's also ringing in its tenth birthday tonight, October 7th, at Good Room. As part of the opening, Razor-N-Tape has launched a GoFundMe offering exclusive merchandise, vinyl bundles, unreleased digital samplers, podcast USBs and in-store savings to raise funds for the custom buildout and operations of the new space. You can donate here. Since its inception in 2012, Razor-N-Tape has established itself as one of Brooklyn's most respected independent record labels, led by co-owners JKriv and Aaron Dae. See below for the opening weekend's full lineup as well as tonight's event at Good Room.
