  • A posthumous Lee "Scratch" Perry box set is on the way. Spanning his prolific 63-year career, King Scratch (Musical Masterpieces From The Upsetter Ark-ive) arrives August 26th on Trojan Records in digital, CD and quadruple-vinyl formats, and includes a 50-page fully illustrated book, written by Perry's official biographer David Katz, with photos from photographer Adrian Boot. The 109-track box set marks the one-year anniversary of Perry's death in August 2021. "This new box set of Lee's golden years shows the visionary genius that drove him to push all creative boundaries, and solidify his status as a cultural icon," said his widow, Mireille Perry, on behalf of Lee's estate. "Lee's art and music will live on forever." Along with Perry's most famous work, the box set includes a number of rare and unreleased DJ mixes, including a mix of Junior Murvin's reggae staple "Police And Thieves." Listen to Perry's 7-inch mix of his song with the Upsetters, "Jungle Lion," and check out the full tracklist via Piccadilly Records. You can also revisit our tribute to Perry, written by Katz.
