  • Amsterdam-based, Brazilian-born producer and vocalist LYZZA is releasing a new mixtape. Across ten tracks, MOSQUITO fuses avant-garde alt-pop and electronica with reggaetón rhythms. It's out September 16th on digital and vinyl via Ninja Tune's Black and POC-run sub-label, Big Dada. Leading up to the release, LYZZA will share a five-part video series that documents the creation of the mixtape. Speaking on the name and themes of the album, LYZZA said, "Because I am Black and make alternative music, I identify with the disruptive and intrusive nature of a mosquito. The fact that I look the way I look, make the music I make and you know who I am means somehow I've been able to penetrate through the noise and bias." MOSQUITO follows LYZZA's recent single, "Lucky You," which was her debut release for Big Dada. Watch the video for "Deserve It" feat. La Zowi, directed by Thyago Sainte.
