  • Steve Bicknell has outed himself as the person behind the backtotheparty YouTube channel. Over the last year, Bicknell has been anonymously uploading edits of classic dance tracks to the YouTube channel. "The inspiration is reimagining and restructuring material to share in a considered environment that preserves the essential elements," he told RA. The collection—which currently stands at 24 different edits—includes versions of Farley "Jackmaster" Funk, Lil Louis, Ten City, Steve Poindexter and Paul Johnson. After revealing himself as the person behind the edits, Bicknell has shared plans to turn backtotheparty into an event series, starting with a party in Milan later this year. "The main concept of backtotheparty, is the party, creating a sound for me to play, and the environment to capture the spirit," Bicknell says. "The YouTube channel is a platform to share the sound and visuals which reflect a sense of being on the dance floor." At the forefront of the UK techno scene since the 90s, the now Berlin-based Bicknell is known for a legendary London party called Lost, as well as labels Cosmic Records and more recently 6dimensions.
