  • Erica Synths has opened the pre-orders for its long-awaited PĒRKONS HD-01 drum machine, which premiered in 2021 at Berlin's modular synth expo, Superbooth. Following a year-long delay due to component shortages, the Latvian manufacturer known for its Eurorack modules expects their newest sound-design instrument—priced at $1,999/€1,650—to ship out from July 31st. Named after the Baltic god of thunder, PĒRKONS includes a step sequencer and four voices combining digital synthesis with analogue filters, overdrive, delay and compression effects. Each voice features a digital oscillator and eight control knobs, which users can manipulate for deeper sound design. There's also a global LFO with morphable waveshapes to automating parameters. All settings can then be saved as kits. Check out this demo from Superbooth 2021.
