  • 'It changed my whole perspective': Bill Patrick opens photography exhibition in Budapest image
  • Bill Patrick is exhibiting tour and travel photos in Budapest. Running from Friday, May 6th, through May 18th at Easy Art Space, A Failed Conversation Between Strangers is the first photo exhibition from the New York DJ. It features photos taken between 2017 and 2022. After more than 20 years of DJing around the world—including a well-known 31-hour back-to-back with tINI at Sunwaves—Patrick has used photography to slow down and refocus. "I've not made a definite transition," he told Resident Advisor. "But, basically, 20-plus years of touring had begun to wear on me. I was feeling extremely lonely on the road, anxious and really not enjoying myself. The toll it started to take on my mental health was too much to ignore and I knew something needed to change." He added: "A friend suggested buying a film camera and documenting my travels, which in turn changed my whole perspective. It got me out of the mundane routine of it all and allowed me to explore each city and country on a much more intimate level in hopes of capturing something compelling. Subsequently, bringing a renewed excitement and appreciation for life on the road." Check out the exhibition poster and a selection of photos. More of Patrick's images are available here.
