Neneh Cherry is releasing a collaborative album of covers called The Versions.
Out June 10th on EMI, the ten-track LP sees Cherry and various women artists reworking some of her best-known tracks. There are slots for the likes of ANOHNI, Robyn, Sia and Sudan Archives, while Honey Dijon has remixed one of the tracks.
"Neneh was my favorite artist when she hit the scene," said Sia. "I saved my pocket money for red Filas and dreamt one day we would meet. When I was struggling with my mental health in my early twenties, I somehow ended up in their house being taken care of as if I was one of their own children. I called her husband during a suicide attempt, who had been mentoring me as an incredible music producer, and they gave me all the love I could have dreamt of."
The first single from The Versions, featuring Robyn, landed earlier this month. The new LP follows Cherry's 2018 studio album, Broken Politics, released via Smalltown Supersound.
