  • The first release on seminal UK label Moving Shadow is getting reissued. Out May 2nd on Sam Purcell's London outlet Blank Mind, Earth Leakage Trip's 1991 debut, Psychotronic EP, is being reissued for the first time. The record, written by Neil Sanford and Simon Carter, was big in the early rave scene, especially the B-side track, "No Idea." Speaking to Resident Advisor, Sanford said the EP "has had multiple requests for re-release over the years, but now is the 30-year anniversary." He added that Blank Mind "is perfect for the re-branding of the original EP. They represent modern psychedelic music and the original EP has always inspired Sam [Purcell], the owner of the label." The reissue came about after Purcell coincidentally sold some hardware to Tony Lobue, a newer member of Earth Leakage Trip. "I was naturally pretty stunned as it's one of my favourite records of all time," Purcell told RA. "Somehow, a few years down the line we managed to sort something out. It's such a surreal and funny record, and I'm delighted and, um, tripping to play a part in sharing this iconic release with the world again." Listen to "No Idea."
