  • The first Night Time Economy Summit is taking place on April 7th and 8th. The event, run by the Night Time Industries Association (NTIA), will be held at Bristol Beacon. Speakers include representatives from Defected Records, Sub Club, Bitch, Please!, Free The Night, A Greener Festival, Music Venue Trust and Association For Electronic Music (AFEM). The UK's minister for hospitality, Paul Scully MP, and New York City's Night Czar, Ariel Palitz, have also been confirmed, as well as Sacha Lord, Amy Lamé and Carly Heath, who represent nightlife in Greater Manchester, London and Bristol respectively. With a focus on the safety of women and duty of care, Resident Advisor, NTIA's Woman At Night Taskforce, Bristol Nights and more will be hosting panels on topics like safe spaces and empowerment. Other issues on the agenda include sustainability, supporting grassroots venues, venue licensing and the cultural value of electronic music.
