  • Unseen photos of legendary techno party House Of God are being exhibited in Birmingham, England, later this year. The black-and-white images were taken by the late, acclaimed British fashion photographer Terence Donovan, who visited Que Club in January 1996 shortly before he died, the Guardian reports. Since then, they've sat untouched in a drawer at House Of God founder Chris Wishart's house in Wolverhampton. Jez Collins, curator of the forthcoming In The Que exhibition at Birmingham Museum & Art Gallery, discovered the photos while interviewing Wishart for a documentary about Que Club. Ten of the 65 images will be included in the exhibition, which opens on April 28th. "It's an amazing find after all these years," Collins told the Guardian. "This was an important place for people, and it's been captured by one of the greatest British photographers of the time." Donovan, who was famous for shooting stars like Jimi Hendrix, Princess Diana and Twiggy, was lured to Que Club by his son, a DJ. These photos might be the only time Donovan shot in a nightclub. Opened in 1989 in the former Methodist Central Hall, Que Club was one of the UK's most important acid house clubs. Parties like House Of God, Atomic Jam and Flashback helped put Birmingham on the dance music map. Photo: Terence Donovan Archive
