- To celebrate the 25th release in the DJ Kicks series, !K7 has put together 14 exclusive tracks for a special compilation album.
Berlin's !K7 imprint first released its now legendary DJ Kicks album 10 years ago (a collection by CJ Bolland that painted all the colours of the techno map). Since then it has gone on to become one of the most influential series of this creatively enthralling genre that we call electronic music.
Possessing a strange timeless quality whether you favour DJ Cam’s turntable deconstruction from 1997; Thievery Corporation’s late night moods from 1999 or even Erlend Oye’s none-more-leftfield, kitchen sink and all set from 2004, they all still make sense today.
To celebrate its 25th release (electro-pop golden girl Annie’s mix), !K7 has done something extra special by rounding up 14 exclusive tracks by some of the artists mentioned, and popped them on one handy CD for your delectation. That means the beat-based madness of Kid Loco, Truby Trio and Kruder & Dorfmeister, just as much as the dancefloor delights of Carl Craig, Chicken Lips and The Glimmers.
