The multi-disciplinary artist will also perform live at London's Tate Modern on September 24th.
Mira Calix has announced a new album, absent origin, on Warp Records.
After immersing herself in the history of collage, each track on absent origin was produced by applying a collage technique specific to a particular visual artist. The 17-track project is out on November 5th.
"Like [Marcel] Duchamp, I had started out wanting to, make an album, or box, of approximately all the things I produced," says Calix. "In the end, I realised—as much as a collage is the coupling of two or more realities, it also offers the means to examine the materials and culture of an era, questioning and expanding its borders."
Calix will perform live in London on September 24th for Tate Modern's Tate Lates series.
