  • Swedish pop icons ABBA are back with new music for the first time since 1981. Spanning ten tracks, Voyage arrives on November 5th via Universal Music. ABBA intends to perform the new material as part of a digital concert slated for next year. The performance will see ABBA avatars accompanied by a ten-piece live band in a custom-built arena at London's Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Two tracks from Voyage, "I Still Have Faith In You" and "Don't Shut Me Down," were initially announced in 2018, while the avatar tour has been in the making since late 2016, when news of a virtual reality experience was first announced. Faced with multiple delays over the years, both the release and concert are now finally seeing the light of day. "It's been a while since we made music together," members Agnetha Fältskog, Benny Andersson, Björn Ulvaeus and Anni-Frid Lyngstad said in a statement. "Almost 40 years, actually. We took a break in the spring of 1982 and now we've decided it's time to end it. They say it's foolhardy to wait more than 40 years between albums, so we've recorded a follow-up to The Visitors. We simply call it Voyage and we're truly sailing in uncharted waters." The Visitors came out in November 1981, a few months before the band officially disbanded.
