  • RA is pleased to announce the appointment of Whitney Wei as its new editor-in-chief. Wei is responsible for overseeing all editorial content at the music platform, having formerly served in the same role at Germany's Telekom Electronic Beats. A keen clubber, she cut her teeth at DIY dubstep shows while studying in New York, eventually going on to report on underground nightlife scenes for The Guardian and Vogue US, as well as contributing to Pitchfork, Highsnobiety and other publications. She arrives at RA having spent a fruitful 18 months at Electronic Beats, where she launched content such as a BIPOC-centric music project FWD Transmissions and a series investigating subcultural aesthetics Sound and Style. She also currently serves on the Board of Trustees for the Berlin Clubcommission's Tag der Clubkultur, which awards the city's clubs and collectives financial support for community-focused initiatives. "I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to lead RA into its new editorial era," she says, "In taking on this immense responsibility, I put forth my dedication to journalistic integrity and inclusive storytelling to ensure Resident Advisor remains in service to the dance music community." Paul Clement, RA co-founder, adds: "This is the first time we've recruited externally for a new editor-in-chief in over a decade. The role is pivotal in our ability to support and document important moments in the dance music communities past, present and future. We're incredibly excited about Whitney's appointment, and confident she will bring a fresh approach as we continue to evolve."
