  • Bristol-based initiative Saffron is offering beginner courses for aspiring producers and engineers. Set up to tackle gender imbalance in music tech, the non-profit offers specialist training to women and non-binary people. This summer sees an expansion of its educational wing with Saffron For Sound: four-day courses in music production and sound engineering. The workshops will take place in Bristol, Nottingham and London. Applications for the Nottingham programme closes next Friday, July 9th, and applications in Bristol and London will open soon. At least 25 percent of places will be offered for free or at a pay-what-you-can rate. Saffron has also expanded its longstanding DJ course Mix Nights. The eight-week workshop, which usually takes place in Bristol, is also on offer in Nottingham and London. Teachers include OK Williams, Saoirse, Shanti Celeste, Rosie Vacci B and Outsider. Applications for Bristol are still open. Photo credit: Ash Reynolds
