  • Ibiza and the rest of the Balearic Islands have been added to the UK's green list for travel. Yesterday's announcement, which also saw Malta, Barbados and others added to the list, means travellers from the UK can visit Ibiza from 4 AM on June 30th without having to quarantine on return, though they'll still need to take a PCR test within 48 hours of arriving back in the UK. There are currently no requirements for entering Spain for UK visitors. This is good news for Ibiza, which relies heavily on tourism from the UK. Bars, cafés and restaurants can currently stay open until 2 AM, though nightclubs still remain closed. This weekend's 1500-capacity pilot event at Hard Rock Hotel will guide the local government's approach to clubbing in 2021. UK travel minister Grant Shapps has tempered the good news by adding that all 16 territories, with the exception of Malta, remain on the so-called green watch list, which means they could return to the amber or red list at any moment. As of yesterday, June 24th, the 14-day infection rate in the Balearics is among the lowest in Spain at 45 per 100,000 inhabitants, Ibiza Spotlight reports. 53 percent of the population have had their first shot of the vaccine, with 34 percent fully vaccinated.
