- The 17-track Amapiano Now is out next month.
NTS Radio is releasing a 17-track compilation that spotlights the South African phenomenon, amapiano.
Arriving digitally on July 23rd, Amapiano Now features new tunes from established and emerging producers across South Africa. They include Kamo Mphela, MaWhoo, DBN Gogo, Vigro Deep, Mr JazziQ, Caltonic SA and Gaba Cannal, among others. Compiled by Shannen SP, Joe Cotch and NTS, the album explores various shades of amapiano that range from jazzy instrumentals to pop to hard-hitting dance music.
"Since emerging from the townships of Gauteng and administrative capital Pretoria several years ago, the amapiano genre has quickly established itself as the defining sound of the South African club underground," NTS said in a statement.
