  • Eric Cloutier has ten themed mixes on the way. Titled The Arsonist & The Architect, the new mix series was planned in the height of the pandemic, as a way for Cloutier to a challenge himself and rediscover his passion for dance music. "This will definitely be a way for me to shake the malaise that I've been feeling for the last 16 months" writes the Berlin-based DJ. "But it is also a way to signify that the end is near for this cataclysm that nearly decimated club life as we know it. This is to be a musical journey as much as an inspiration for us all to return to the dance floor—together." Cloutier continues: "Ten themed mixes done entirely with vinyl and recorded all in one take. I'm going to bare 20 hours of my admiration for this scene: its clubs, its audiences, its producers, its labels, and its music—just a sliver of my collection—for you all to enjoy." There will be a new mix released every two weeks. The first mix, "Undulate," is out now. It focuses on "confusing time signatures, wonky percussion, entrancing pads and synths, and a rhythm structure that sometimes breaks itself before it comes back together."
