Dublin label Appian Sounds are giving new life to music HVL released during quarantine.
The Aura Fossil and Alignment EPs were pulled from two digital bundles the Tbilisi artist Gigi Jikia, AKA HVL, released in 2020. They will be released on vinyl on September 1st and October 1st respectively.
"We have been fans of Gigi since his early releases on Housewax and Rough House Rosie" writes Al Blayney of Appian Sounds, "but it was his album Ostati on Organic Analogue from 2018 that really blew us away." He continues to say that the new EPs were "chosen from an incredible and diverse body of work that was created during the surreal year that was 2020. This type of music transcends, takes hold and transports."
It's the first time Jikia is working with Appian Sounds, having released his previous records through labels like Hypercolour, Linear Movement and Bassiani.
