  • New York City artist William Burnett has released a series of six EPs under his experimental Black Deer alias. Burnett has issued Black Deer records through labels like L.I.E.S., Rush Hour's No "Label" and Emotional Response, but the new series comes through an imprint that will be dedicated to his own material, Verge Of Tears. (Verge Of Tears previously released Burnett's Strange Birds collaboration with Ron Morelli.) The hexalogy sees Burnett exploring all sides of the Black Deer sound, with releases named Abstract, Kraut, Melodic, Other, Sad Techno & Vocals. They're out via Bandcamp and streaming platforms now with a potential CD compilation of all the releases to come. Listen to Black Deer's Melodic.
