- The LP on Osàre! Editions combines traditional instruments with synths and experimental textures.
Tokyo-based artist Hoshina Anniversary has revealed a new alias for his latest album.
The DJ and producer chose to work under the name Suemori for Maebashi, which comes out on May 10th via Elena Colombi's two year-old label Osàre! Editions. "An inheritance from his grandfather, the name sets the tone of the album," according to the liner notes. The LP is meant to represent Japanese culture through its use of traditional instruments, dub, drone, electro and acid flavours.
Maebashi arrives a few days before Hoshina Anniversary's next release under his usual name—a fourteen-track album called Jomon. Touching on classical instruments, jazz, house and techno, Jomon is due on May 14th via ESP Institute. Earlier this year, the producer also revealed a 12-inch, Karakuri / Michinoku, for the Los Angeles-based label.
