Sleep D's Butter Sessions label will commemorate its tenth anniversary with a compilation, book and fresh merchandise.
Established by Corey Kikos and Maryos Syawish back in 2011, the blog-turned-party-turned-imprint has gone on to become one of Melbourne's most influential electronic labels. The Butter Sessions catalogue now comprises around 40 records, featuring music by Australian artists like Roza Terenzi, Ewan Jansen, Tornado Wallace and Low Flung as well as overseas friends like DJ Fett Burger, Jayda G and Haruka. To mark the tenth birthday, they'll be releasing a three-volume set of 12-inches on April 16th featuring a total of 22 new tracks from the wider Butter Sessions family. Among the list of contributing artists are Albrecht La'Brooy, D. Tiffany, Furious Frank, Nummer, Cale Sexton, Guy Contact, Vanessa Worm and Sleep D themselves. Each of the three volumes will be available individually, while a "showbag" bundling the full set in a limited tote with booklet, stickers and keyring will sell from the label's web store.
10 Years Of Butter Sessions, a 120-page book collecting photos, artwork and stories, is also available as a companion to the compilation, as is a run of new T-shirts, hoodies and hats.
