- The East Bay artist's Nerve Bumps (A Queer Divine Dissatisfaction) is out February 26th.
Dax Pierson's debut solo record, Nerve Bumps (A Queer Divine Dissatisfaction), is out this Friday.
Co-released by Oakland's Ratskin Records and Dark Entries, the eight-track LP has been two years in the making, and sees the East Bay artist blending everything from "musique concrete-informed experiments" to "trap/anti trap-influenced percussion" and "John Carpenter-esque arpeggios."
Pierson cofounded the group 13&God, comprising members of Themselves, The Notwist and another Pierson group, Subtle. A car accident while touring with Subtle in 2005 left him with a spinal cord injury. He's spent the last 12 years learning music production methods that don't require the use of individual fingers, leading to an iPad-controlled laptop setup.
You can buy Nerve Bumps (A Queer Divine Dissatisfaction) on cassette, CD, digital and vinyl from Pierson’s Bandcamp. The official release date is February 26th, but the record is already available in some stores.
