  • Legendary New York house label Nu Groove Records is back with new music after nearly three decades. Run by Frank and Karen Mendez between 1988 and '92, the label was acquired by Defected Records in 2017. The next release, which landed yesterday on vinyl, is a split EP between Jovonn and Deetron, with each artist contributing two tracks. The digital version will follow soon. Nu Groove was initially set up to release the music of promising young duo Rheji and Ronald Burrell, who put out multiple EPs under various aliases. The label later signed records by the likes of Frankie Bones, Kenny Dope and Joey Beltram. Listen to clips of the new EP.
