- Funds from the Gun Aid LP will go to the pub and a local charity called Hackney Quest.
East London pub The Gun is releasing a 14-track charity compilation on April 2nd.
"This Gun Aid LP is a collection of tracks gifted from our beloved friends who have stepped in when we've needed them most," the venue says, "and we couldn't be more grateful for the generosity shown." All the artists featured, bar Róisín Murphy, have played DJ sets at the East London community pub.
The LP includes contributions from Daniel Avery, Nitzer Ebb, The 2 Bears' Raf Rundell, Ivan Smagghe and ICAR (AKA C.A.R.). Four "gloriously moody bastards" from the LP are also available on a separate 12-inch, Time At The Vortex.
The Gun set up a record label, The Gun Well St., to support itself and local causes through the pandemic. Charity project Hackney Quest, which has been supporting families in the area since 1988, is responsible for distributing the proceeds.
