  • Morgan Geist has revived his Storm Queen project with a new single for FFRR. The single, "For A Fool," comprises a radio edit and an extended version. It's the first we've heard from Storm Queen in eight years. The vocal house project, which initially consisted of Geist and the singer Damon C. Scott, dropped three singles on Environ between 2010 and 2012. The MK remix of "Look Right Through" topped UK charts and eventually went platinum. The Storm Queen single is the first of a slate of weekly releases on the way via FFRR, including new tracks from BURNS, Obskür, and Franky Rizardo & Joe Goddard. The label is now helmed by music executive and DJ Andy Daniell. Designer, DJ and Trevor Jackson recently updated the iconic FFRR logo. "I approached the rebranding of FFRR cautiously at first, fully aware of the label's legacy and significance of its existing logo," Jackson said. "I firmly believe a strong logo identity should succeed on its own merits, not via a specific association or unified nostalgia. FFRR moving forward isn't a heritage label, and although its back catalogue and history is highly important and should definitely be embraced, that shouldn't direct its identity in the future."
