  • Britton Powell, Huerco S. and Lucy Railton have collaborated on an album under the name PDP III. Due out on April 19th via Shelter Press, Pilled Up On A Couple Of Doves is the first joint effort between NYC-based composer Powell, ambient experimentalist Brian Leeds and British cellist Railton. The LP is the result of a number of recording sessions at Gary's Electric Studio in Brooklyn from December 2018, in which Powell's compositional sketches were presented to the group, then Railton played cello and electronics and Powell and Leeds worked on laptops in an improvised process. The recordings have since been edited and presented as an album by Powell. The label notes that the process "involved little in the way of overt instruction, instead favoring discussion on more abstract notions of feel and energy." Powell adds, "I don’t think the three of us had any idea how heavy and physical this thing was going to feel." Listen to "Walls Of Kyoto."
