  • Scaramanga Silk's Choose Your Weapon sold on Discogs in December 2020 for $41,000 (or £29,800). The unknown London artist self-released Choose Your Weapon in 2008 as a limited edition of 20 promo copies. This record-breaking sale was the first time the release has been bought on Discogs. The record, which is not available to stream online, is listed as breakbeat, electro and breakcore. The seller's Discogs entry read: "Mega-rare collectible. Unplayed, Mint Condition. Numbered 02 / 20. Contains info sheet, signed record, signed art print [plus CD]." Scaramanga Silk, who currently has five monthly listeners on Spotify, told Discogs that "the individual who made the purchase must have had some kind of special connection to the work." The anonymous buyer purchased from a second-hand reseller, meaning Scaramanga Silk receives none of the money. Choose Your Weapon has broken the previous record for the most expensive sale on Discogs, and is among the most expensive records ever sold anywhere. Some commenters on the Discogs entry are skeptical as to whether the sale is genuine.
