As part of our new Re-record feature focusing on Black artists in electronic music from 2001 through 2020, we're doing a week-long Mix Of The Day takeover.
Rec Room cofounder Sarah Farina is one of the most vibrant voices in the bustling Berlin scene. As if to underline that idea, she sometimes calls her style of music "Rainbow Bass," shining light and colour on some of the darkest, growliest dance music around. She effortlessly mixes dubstep, UK garage, drum & bass and other sounds with R&B, UK funky and house music, with connections to important crews around the world—a testament to her varied tastes and wide reach.
This latest mix, recorded for the rC3 "hacker congress," is Farina at her best, with highlights including a Chimpo edit of Janet Jackson and heaters from INVT and DJ Tre.
