  • Kurzweil has announced the K2700, the latest iteration of its long-running K2 series of workstations. Beginning back in 1991 with the K2000, the K2 series was one of the most powerful workstations of the era, combining sampling and high quality sound banks with Kurzweil's signature V.A.S.T. synthesis system. The new K2700 has five times the polyphony of any previous K2 synth, offering 256-voice polyphony over 4.5GB of inbuilt sounds and 3.5GB of user sample memory. A six-operator FM synth and Kurzweil's highly regarded range of audio effects are built-in while 16 MIDI note, MIDI CC and arpeggiator sequences can run simultaneously. Read the specs in-depth on the Kurzweil website. Price and release date are still to be announced. Watch a promo video for the K2700.
