Currents.fm, a multi-purpose music platform, will hold a second edition of its immersive livestream program on December 12.
The event, called COMMON IMMERSIVE, will feature exclusive audiovisual performances from rRoxymore (pictured), Chamberlain Zhang, Rosa Anschütz, KMRU and Electric Indigo.
"Participants can bring together up to four friends in the same room to link up their computers in a circle, and performances will be broadcast across the array of computers at once," according to the event’s press release.
Other acts on the bill include Nguyễn + Transitory and theremin player Donna Maya from the collective female:pressure as well as Samurai Breaks, Addison Groove, Sinistarr and The Librarian. COMMON's first round of participatory live-streams debuted in November with Berlin-based Midori Hirano, SVBKVLT’s Gooooose and Mexican producer CNDSD.
Currents describes itself as "a set of open tools that encourages and enables broad, sustainable and community-driven support for artists through regular subscriptions and tips." Basically, it enables artists and labels to set up subscription-based channels to launch content, curate playlists and highlight others in their community.
