The dubplate specialist was particularly revered in jungle and drum & bass circles.
Leon Chue, master cutting engineer at London's Music House, has died in his mid-'40s.
The dubplate specialist started working at his father Paul's legendary cutting house, then on Holloway Road, in September 1995, quickly making a name for himself among jungle and drum & bass DJs, who would queue round the block to get their dubs cut. He worked with everyone from DJ Hype and Goldie to Grooverider.
"Today is a terribly sad day," tweeted Doc Scott. "You were always kind, polite, a true professional and a beautiful person to be around and I am deeply saddened by today's news. All my love to your family and close friends, a tragic loss, gone way too soon."
Chue is the son of roots reggae producer Paul Chue and the brother of UK garage legend Wookie.
