  • Delia Derbyshire: The Myths & The Legendary Tapes will premiere online as part of the BFI London Film Festival next Thursday. The 98-minute film focuses on the singular life of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop innovator, famously responsible for one of the most famous synthesizer motifs of all time: the Doctor Who theme. Caroline Catz makes her directorial debut and also stars in the film, which mixes archival footage and interviews with dramatizations. Fellow UK innovator Cosey Fanni Tutti (Chris & Cosey, Throbbing Gristle) crafted the soundtrack using samples from Derbyshire's posthumously discovered Attic Tapes. The film, produced by Andy Starke (A Field In England) through the Anti-Worlds production company, will premiere on the BFI site next Thursday, October 15th at 18:30 BST and runs until Sunday evening. Check out the trailer for Delia Derbyshire: The Myths & The Legendary Tapes.
