Krunk, one of India's longest-running booking and events agencies, has just launched their own record label.
The Mumbai-based outfit has been operating since 2009, handling bookings for a range of local electronic and live acts and hosting international names like Loefah, Squarepusher and Romare at parties and festivals around the country.
The new label, Krunk Kulture, launches with a 15-track compilation called Kaala Khatta—Flavours Of The East, which features artists from around India as well as Nepal, Japan and the US, plus others of Indian descent living elsewhere around the globe. Nikki Nair, YNZN.P, Daisuke Tanabe, Oceantied, SUCHI and Kini Rao are among those contributing a mix of house, techno, breaks, electro, jungle, footwork and bass, according to the label.
